Speed Stacking Success

‘Speed Stacking’ Champions Again!

On Tuesday 21st March, the annual Widnes Primary School’s Speed Stack Championship was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic College amid a haze of ‘up-stacking’ and ‘down-stacking’.

The competition is based on how fast 12 plastic cups arranged in a ‘3-6-3’ routine can be stacked up and then stacked down with the fastest times earning extra points for their teams.

Since September, our after-school speed stacking club has proven to be extremely popular and has produced some highly skilled cup stackers, so much so that selecting just one team was impossible and so once again two teams were entered.

Both our teams produced some outstanding performances - notably James Prescott from Year 3, Michael Downey from Year 4 and Annabel Attwood from Year 6 who each recorded the fastest times from any child in their year group. Indeed, our teams’ collective performances were so good that just like last year, not only did our ‘B’ team manage to finish as runners up, our ‘A’ team were crowned champions – a fantastic achievement!

Congratulations and a big well done to: Shaun Arnold, Annabel Attwood, George Attwood, Ben Baraclough, Eleanor Davis, Michael Downey, Beth Glover, Ruby Hulme, Tom Krause, Rachel Lane, Ava Prescott, James Prescott, Jack Roberts, Seth Roberts, Euan Ward and Lexi Wood.
