Parish of St Wilfrid
Loving Father,
We thank You for the gift of St. Wilfrid, a faithful bishop who shared the Good News with courage and joy. St. Wilfrid taught people about Jesus, built churches and cared for the poor. He travelled far and wide to spread Your love, and never gave up, even when things were hard. Help us to follow his example: to be brave in our faith, kind in our actions, and strong in standing up for what is right. Bless our parish of St. Wilfrid, and all those who help us grow in faith. May we, like St. Wilfrid, always put You first in our hearts.
St. Wilfrid, pray for us.
St. Bede, pray for us.
St. Bede’s belongs to the parish of St. Wilfrid, which incorporates Widnes' four Catholic churches: St. Bede, St. Michael, St. John Fisher and St. Basil.
Our church is a beautiful, Grade II listed building, which has stood since 1847. Throughout the year, our school community regularly attends Mass and other liturgies in St. Bede's Church, which we are fortunate to have on our doorstep.
Father Mark Moran serves as our Parish Priest and Moderator.
As our school priest, Father Mark regularly celebrates Mass with the whole school community and journeys with both staff and pupils throughout the year.
Father Peter Ross also serves the parish and joins Father Mark in working alongside Widnes’ Catholic schools.
Our priests are assisted by Deacons Paul Rooney and Paul Whitehead as well as the parish catechists who support in the care of our churches and the sacramental preparation of our children.
